Meet the Team
Dr. Ashley Patnoe, DDS
Dr. Ashley Patnoe has travelled a winding path through, beyond and back to West Virginia. She was born and spent several of her childhood years in Morgantown, WV. Richmond, VA was briefly home to Dr. Patnoe before her family moved to Charleston, WV in 1980.
From the age of 12, Dr. Patnoe spent a great deal of her spare time working in her father’s endodontic practice. Although she admired the skills and artistry that he developed as a dentist - in a career spanning over 42 years, and counting - Dr. Patnoe never imagined that she would one day choose to follow in his footsteps.
After graduating from Charleston’s George Washington High School in 1989, Dr. Patnoe entered undergraduate studies at West Virginia University. Although she expected to graduate as a teacher, Dr. Patnoe decided to enter WVU’s dental school. She emerged a dentist, and then completed her residency studies at The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. Upon completion of her academics, she remained in Michigan for 3 1/2 years, working as a pediatric dentist in a large practice in Rochester Hills, MI.
Feeling the need to return to her hometown, Dr. Patnoe chose to plan, build and open her own pediatric practice in Charleston, WV. Since opening her office on November 3, 2003, Dr. Patnoe has welcomed patients from a diverse population in and around Charleston.
Dr. Patnoe describes herself and the members of her office team as “committed to the oral health of the children I take care of, and I strive to meet all of their growing needs. I’m always pushing myself and my staff to improve our service to our community.”
Her family, consisting of her husband, son and daughter, share Dr. Patnoe’s love of West Virginia, and take advantage of all the state has to offer, including hiking and snow skiing. She also shares her enjoyment of movies, cooking and (especially) reading with her family.
And she is immensely happy that her journey continues in West Virginia.
Brittany came to work at Charleston Pediatric Dentistry as a hygiene assistant in 2006 while she was in college. She fell in love with Dr. Patnoe, the staff, and kids and continued to work here as a dental assistant after graduating from WVU Institute of Technology in 2006. Brittany loves working with kids and hearing all their funny stories. In her free time, Brittany enjoys her cats, Walter and Flex, and her birds, Noah and Allie. She also enjoys reading and outdoor activities.
Lisa has worked in dentistry for over 20 years. She started as a dental assistant and then received her degree in Dental Hygiene in 1990 from WVU Institute of Technology. She began working here in 2007 and hasn’t stopped smiling yet. Lisa takes great pride in her work and really gets to know her patients. Lisa and her husband, Jeff, have two children and a new grandchild born December 2011. One of Lisa’s favorite places to be is on the ball field watching her son play high school baseball! She also enjoys walking and cooking with her daughter and playing with her two dogs, Sawyer and Lilly.
Amy-Office Manager, Dental Assistant
Amy has been with Dr. Patnoe from the beginning! She was standing at Dr. Patnoe’s side when their first patient walked through the door in November of 2003. Amy received her certificate in Dental Assisting from Carver Career Center in 2000. She worked in general and pediatric dentistry but quickly realized her heart was with kids. Amy became the office manager in 2009 and loves it! She is happily married and they were blessed with their first child, a little boy, in January 2009. In her free time, Amy enjoys cooking, reading, camping, movies and spending as much time as possible with her family and friends.
Staci-Dental Assistant, Treatment Coordinator
Staci recently relocated to the area from Columbus, OH to be closer to her family. She has a degree in Dental Assisting from the Huntington School of Business. Her world was forever changed for the better in December 2011 when they welcomed their first child, a handsome little boy, into their family! When Staci finds free time between work and caring for a little one, she likes to bake and spend time with her family.
